Linof: turn family photos and videos into a gift film

Linof turns family photos and home videos into a short cinematic film with music. It restores and colorizes old photos, brings them into gentle motion, picks the best moments from your videos, and cuts everything to a soundtrack, ready in minutes. A film is a gift for a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a bar or bat mitzvah, or a gentle memorial.

How it works

  1. Add your photos and home videos, from a phone or a computer.
  2. Choose a style, the music and how long the film runs.
  3. Linof restores, animates and scores the film. Download it as an MP4 or share it with a private link.

Pricing

Your first animation is free, with no credit card. After that you buy a one-time plan sized by how long the film is, with no subscription: plans and prices .

About Linof

Linof began as a family photo shop, Photo Linof, opened in 1956, and grew into one of the largest labs in the world for restoring and converting video, film and photos. The third generation of the family built Linof.ai to turn family photos and videos into films with AI. Our story .

Our story

70 years of family legacy

Three generations of one family, keeping other families’ memories.

  1. My grandfather Isaac at thirteen in 1940s Baghdad, holding a camera

    1940s

    It started with a keyhole

Our story begins in 1940s Baghdad. My grandfather Isaac learned the craft of photography through the keyhole of a film lab: watching, absorbing, learning. That is where he first met photography and film developing, learned to work with the chemicals, and knew this was his craft.

  2. My grandfather Isaac outside Photo Linof

    1956

    The first shop

In 1956 he opened his first shop, Photo Linof: studio portraits, passport photos, developing prints and negatives, every photo service there was. And on top of that, weddings and events, filmed on Super 8 and shot in stills.

  3. My grandmother Rachel at the shop counter

    1960s

    Rachel joins the shop

In the 1960s he met my grandmother Rachel. They married, and she joined the shop: she looked after the customers, worked on the developing and the prints, and became part of the place itself. An impressive woman, to this day.

  4. My father Ofer as a boy in the shop

    1970s

Children grow up in the shop

In the 1970s the children grew up right inside the shop. My father Ofer, the eldest, started working there at the age of ten, filming events and weddings.

  5. My father Ofer with a video camera

    1980s

    Video arrives

In the early 1980s video arrived, and the shop grew with it: video tapes, video filming, converting and copying tapes, turning Super 8 reels into video. After the 1980s my father went to the United States and opened a lab of his own there, Horizon Video, specialising in converting and copying video tapes.

  6. The Linof lab: racks of video decks, film reels and a projector, with the team at work

    1999

One of the largest labs in the world

In 1999 my father joined his parents again and grew Linof into a large lab, one of the largest in the world for restoring and converting every format made in the last hundred years: video, film and photos. The lab has been running for nearly 30 years.

  7. My twin brother Yuval and me with an old film camera

    2017

    The third generation joins

And the third generation? My twin brother Yuval and I grew up right inside this lab, both in the photo shop and in the lab. We have had the pleasure and the honour of working with our grandparents and our father, and today the two of us carry on the family business together.

  8. Yarden and Ash at a wooden desk with a box of old family photos, film reels and a camera

    2026

A new Linof chapter: Ash joins

I met Ash at WalkMe about six years ago, and we quickly became friends. When we both wanted to go our own way, I told him about my dream of carrying Linof forward, and he loved it. Ash is an engineer with rare talent, and he taught me to build with AI.

In 2026 the third generation is taking the family business a step further, into artificial intelligence, and this time with a partner. Linof.ai is our first product: it helps families turn photos and videos into a film for their big days, simply, with the help of AI. Our vision is to help families keep their memories, in photos and video, for years to come.
